New “green” natural skin care product line for baby
Green Elly is a new natural skin care product line developed for babies. The story goes that this all natural skin care product line for babies was started by Elly’s mom in an effort to use only green and healthy ingredients, that were good for the baby and good for the environment.
The press release states “Eco-conscious mom turns entrepreneur and launches a full line of natural skin care for infants and children after learning of developmental, reproductive, austism and cancer issues in skin care studies released.”
I checked the Cuddle Me Clean Foaming Wash and the Cuddle Me Clean Gel Wash. After seeing the ingredients in these two so-called natural skin care products, I didn’t bother checking the rest of the products.
Here are some of the ingredients in these supposed natural skin care baby products that I find objectionable and the reasons why:
sodium metabisulfite - irritant to the skin, eyes and lungs, skin sensitizer, mutagen, toxic to the brain and nervous system, associated with adverse reproductive effects
hydrolyzed silk - source of hidden MSG
hydrolyzed wheat protein - source of hidden MSG
sodium hydroxymethylglycinate - releases formaldehyde, known to cause cancer
trisodium ethylenediamine disuccinate - skin irritant, endocrine disruptor, toxic to the brain and nervous system
cocamidopropyl hydroxysultane - may be contaminated with carcinogenic nitrosamines, safety has not been adequately investigated.
cocamidopropyl betaine - may be contaminated with carcinogenic nitrosamines, may cause allergic reactions
PEG-75 meadowfoam seed oil - may be contaminated with 1,4-dioxane
diazolidinyl urea - releases formaldehyde, known to cause cancer
iodopropynyl butylcarbamate - toxic to humans, may be toxic to the liver or gastrointestinal tract, toxic to the immune system
Ingredients to watch out for in anti aging skin care products
The marketplace is overflowing with all sorts of anti aging skin care products, natural, organic and from the mainstream manufacturers. A great number of these anti aging products contain products that are harmful or have not been adequately tested.
A big problem with the commercially produced anti-aging products is that a great many of them contain nano ingredients. And frequently, if not most of the time, the nano ingredients are not identified on the label. The trouble with nano ingredients is that they are not proven safe. They have not been in use long enough to find out what long term effects may result from their use. Some research has shown that nano ingredients can enter the cell and damage the DNA.
In addition, most anti aging and skin care products contain ingredients that are not natural and may even be harmful.
Here are some of the commonly used ingredients in anti aging skin care that you should avoid:
PEG (any ingredient that contains PEG in its name)
Imidazolidinyl Urea
Butylene Glycol
Hydrolyzed Wheat Gluten (any ingredient that contains hydrolyzed in its name)
Diazolidinyl Urea
Triethanolamine
Fragrance
Octyl Methoxycinnamate
Polysorbate 80 (most polysorbates)
Ceteareth-20 (any ingredient that has –eth in its name)
Propylene Glycol
Yeast Extract
DMDM Hydantoin
Polyethelene Glycol
Potassium Benzonate
Sodium Benzonate
Sodium Metabisulfite
Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (any Lauryl Sulfates)
These are just a few of the many harmful ingredients used in your skin care products, whether they be anti aging products, skin care products in general and even some that claim to be natural and organic skin care.
You exercise your body to stay fit and keep your muscles strong and toned. Why not exercise the muscles of your face?
Facial Gymnastics is an all natural method of anti-aging skin care by exercising the muscles of your face.
This is natural skin care at its best. There are no toxic chemicals and no invasive procedures. Think of it. The muscles in your face are muscles just like the other muscles in your body. Your muscles need exercise so they don’t get weak, droopy and atrophy. You probably never thought of exercising your facial muscles before, but it makes sense, doesn’t it?
Natural anti-aging skin care doesn’t apply only to products that you use on your face. Granted, it’s still important to use a pure natural skin care product for your facial care. Whether you choose the best natural skin care brand, a 100% certified organic skin care product line or do-it-yourself natural skin care, your skin needs to be properly cleansed, toned and moisturized daily.
Facial Gymnastics is like having a facelift without surgery! It’s a safe and effective means of natural anti aging skin care. It will enhance the results you get from a top quality natural and organic skin care regime. The little bit of time it takes is a small trade-off for big savings and healthy results!
100% certified organic skin care gives you peace of mind knowing that you are using only the best, safest and healthiest products on your skin.
Just being labeled organic is not good enough. Recently, some organic natural skin care products came under fire because the cancer-causing contaminant 1,4-dioxane was detected, in a study commissioned by the Organic Consumer’s Association. No contaminants were found in USDA certified organic skin care products.
“Your skin is not an impenetrable barrier as was thought years ago. We now know that all chemicals that come in contact with the skin can penetrate the skin in varying degrees. Many of the chemicals that can be absorbed through the skin have been detected in the bloodstream.” (Excerpt from Dying To Look Good)
Certified organic natural skin care ingredients are pure and healthy. They’re frequently the same as foods you eat.
Organic all natural skin care is important for all members of your family, especially babies, whose delicate bodies are just developing and are more sensitive to harm from chemicals of questionable safety.
We live in a toxic world. Using certified organic natural skin care eliminates one major source of toxic exposure to your body and will help you stay healthier.
