  What are the best natural skin care brands?

   

  100% natural skin care products that are also organic are always your best option. If your choice is also a certified organic skin care product that’s the best. Be sure the product is certified to the National Organic Program (NOP) standards, not OASIS or Ecocert, both of which are not true organic standards. This will assure you that you are getting a top quality, healthy product.

   

  Now, there are some organic natural skin care products that, even though they are not certified, are still recommended as a top choice. That you can only know by learning all you can about the company and the manufacturer.  

    

  Two of my favorite organic natural skin care product lines I’ll mention here. I have thoroughly investigated both of these companies and the quality of the products and their ingredients are unsurpassable.

  What is the best natural skin care?

  Certified organic skin care is always your best choice for the finest, safest and healthiest skin care products.

  When you’re looking for certified organic skin care products, it’s important to note that until recently there were no official certifying organizations in the U.S. for skin care products. Those that were certified were certified according to the National Organic Program (NOP) standards for food.

  With consumer demand growing for certified organic skin care and cosmetics, the manufacturers of conventional product lines want a piece of the organic pie. The OASIS Organic Standards were created by mainstream cosmetic companies like Estee Lauder and L’Oreal. OASIS is not a true organic standard. It allows synthetic ingredients, ingredients grown with synthetic herbicides and pesticides, and preservatives derived from petroleum.

  The truly all natural skin care companies, with a conscience to produce the healthiest products for the consumer will not use the synthetic and contaminated ingredients allowed under the OASIS standards.   What is natural skin care?

  All natural skin care suggests that the ingredients in the product are derived from natural sources, like plants and have only been minimally processed.

  You would expect natural skin care ingredients to include such things as aloe vera, olive oil, shea butter, coconut oil, herbs and essential oils. Ingredients like propylene glycol, methyl- and propyl paraben, imidazolidinyl urea, PEG compounds, and triethanolamine, aka TEA, have no place in so-called natural skin care products.

  Many a natural skin care company, however, uses these synthetic, far from natural ingredients along with a few natural, plant based ingredients. Recently, cancer-causing contaminants were discovered in some so called natural skin care products.

  The reason this can happen is that “… there are no industry standards for what natural means. The product may contain all natural ingredients, just a few natural ingredients added to a synthetic product or even no natural ingredients at all.” (Excerpt from Dying To Look Good.)
